Jane Birmingham Morlan

Jane Birmingham Morlan (NBCT) retired after seven years as Instructor of Music Education and Voice at Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC and thirty-five years of K-12 vocal and choral teaching in Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. She has recently served as choral consultant for Spartanburg District Six Choral Arts, outreach and summer music theory teacher for the SC Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities, choral clinician throughout South Carolina, and conductor of the Fountain Inn Chorale.

            Ms. Morlan is past President of the South Carolina Music Educators Association and a 2002 Hall of Fame inductee as well as past President of the Southern Division of NAfME and member of the National Executive Board of MENC for four years. She has been honored as a district and school Teacher of the Year three times and has received service awards from Rotary International and the City of Simpsonville. Her choral groups have achieved Superior ratings in state and regional festivals and performed in Vienna, Paris, Salzburg, Amsterdam, New York, and Washington, DC.

            Ms. Morlan believes that music allows all people to share that which connects us and enriches life. The impact of what we do in music is profound and life-long for all of us.  Our strength is our love of our art, our zeal in sharing that love, and the extraordinary company of musicians throughout the world.
